Version 1

OMG.

I was surfing wiki, reading about hand gestures when I came across the shocker. Yes, the shocker. And I just realized I'd been doing something similar in many many photos!!!

Damn, I had no idea that just a slight modification could mean...

Crap.

It's not my fault that this is Matt Hardy's sign and that he's my favourite pro wrestler. Hahaha... Here's proof!

Okay I shall refrain from doing it so much now...

Firefox

As of last night I'm now a Mozilla Firefox user. Hahaha.

Why now? Some people may ask... Or what for? I did it cos I finally got sick and tired of my idiotic Internet connection.

What happens is that sometimes using the Internet for a while, IE7 suddenly tells me that "Internet Explorer Cannot Display The Webpage" which seriously irritates me because it's not like I'm surfing any new sites or anything I'm using sites that I ALWAYS visit like NUS portal or Wikipedia or Hotmail and so on... And all of a sudden it just goes into that mode. ANY website I try to go to... This happens at ANY length of time as well. I can be leaving my computer idle then when I get back to it after hours this happens, or I can be surfing websites and it happens right in front of me. What irritates me more is that the ONLY way to reconnect is to restart my computer. Even doing the "diagnosis and repair" thing or disconnecting the wireless and connecting again can't solve it.

So after umpteen times of this happening, I finally decided to consult Yahoo Answers. Haha. And after viewing several answers to the questions that were similar to mine, the general consensus was: Download and install Mozilla Firefox or Opera, IE sucks.

So I did it.

Lo and behold... It did NOT solve my problems... The SAME thing still happened earlier this morning. WAARHGHGHGHGH!!! But Firefox works so much better than IE so I'm sticking to it haha. I think it's a network problem... But this problem doesn't seem to occur with my sister's, father's or mother's laptop... Or the desktop. Just mine.

WhywhywhywhyWHY

If anyone knows how to solve my problem, please tell me please please please??? :P I'd be eternally grateful.

P.S. For some reason on Firefox my blog titles like this one "Firefox" at the top of the page turns out black instead of deep red like it's coded. Anyone who's super good at html can help me? I'd be eternally grateful too :P Haha.

Love Lockdown

I caught this on MTV yesterday... Kanye West is godlike... Though I don't really like the lyrics to this song. Haha. How different is this from his first two albums man... What an evolution... Why he stays evergreen.

Love Lockdown by Kanye West

I'm not loving you, the way I wanted to
What I had to do, had to run from you
I'm in love with you, but the vibe is wrong
And that haunted me, all the way home

So you never know, never never know,
Never know enough, 'til it's over love
'Til we lose control, system overload
Screamin' "No! No! No! N-No!"

I'm not loving you, the way I wanted to
See I wanna move, but can't escape from you
So I keep it low, keep a secret code
So everybody else don't have to know

So keep your love locked down
Your love locked down
So keep your love locked down
Your love locked down
So keep your love locked down
Your love locked down
And keep your love locked down
You lose

I'm not lovin' you, the way I wanted to
I can't keep my cool, so I keep it true
I got somethin' to lose, so I gotta move
I can't keep myself, and still keep you too

So I keep in mind, when I'm on my own
Somewhere far from home, in the danger zone
How many times did I tell ya fo it finally got through
You lose, you lose

I ain't lovin' you, the way I wanted to
See I had to go, see I had to move
No more wastin' time, we can't wait for life
We're just wastin' time, where's the finish line?

So keep your love locked down
Your love locked down
So keep your love locked down
Your love locked down
So keep your love locked down
Your love locked down
And keep your love locked down
You lose

I'm not lovin you, the way I wanted to
I bet no one knew, I got no one new
I know I said I'm through, but got love for you
But I ain't lovin' you, the way I wanted to

Gotta keep it goin', keep the lovin' goin'
Keep it on a roll, only God knows
If I be with you, baby I'm confused
You choose, you choose

I ain't lovin' you, the way I wanted to
Where I want to go, I don't need you
I've been down this road, too many times before
I ain't lovin' you, the way I wanted to

So keep your love locked down
Your love locked down
Keepin' your love locked down
Your love locked down
Keepin' your love locked down
Your love locked down
Keepin' your love locked down
You lose

So keep your love locked down
Your love locked down
Keepin' your love locked down
Your love locked down
Keep your love locked down
Your love locked down
Keepin' your love locked down
You lose

An Open Letter

Hey dude,

Thanks for teaching me a valuable lesson on Saturday. How to be Zen in the face of adversity.

I did nothing to provoke you, but the words "Liverpool sucks" couldn't come out of your mouth quickly enough. But it's okay, I know how glory-hunters work so I don't take your offense too personally. I forgive you.

You might want to try actually using your own means and achievements to provoke me instead of jumping on the bandwagon and lauding other people's achievements as if they were your own though, at least there'll be more grounds for your provocation.

I'm very happy at the way I responded, and I'm sure you're disappointed at being unable to provoke me into anger, because I'm absolutely sure that that was your intention.

Oh and by the way, Liverpool's non-class players (in your opinion) actually beat Man United's full-of class players (in your opinion again) earlier in the season 2-1, after going 1-0 down... And we're higher up the table as well.

So I have nothing to argue with you. Liverpool may not be strong enough to mount a title challenge this season (I don't think they will), but at least there is solid proof of that result, instead of skewed and biased opinions.

I respect your opinions though, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with them. I forgive you once more, and hope that you will learn something from this. If not, you might encounter someone who is not as forgiving as I am and something will happen to you. I hope that day doesn't happen though.

Thanks again for the valuable lesson.

MMRunning

Went running again this morning... I'm starting to enjoy it, it's kind of therapeutic.

Just something I took note of as I was running... You know people say that when they run, they hum a tune in their head... Or think about life... Or what they're gonna do later in the day... Or someone they like very much... Or just let their mind wander, thinking all sorts of random stuff.

While I was running this morning... I was thinking about the MMR viruses.

-.-

or as Jon Teo would put it,

Associate Prof. Vincent Chow would be proud of me. Hahaha.

You can't have too many second chances in life.

I've made mistakes before and tried to correct them. But when you just are unable to repair the damage, you have to move on.

Since you seem to have, I will.

Free Fallin'

Free Fallin' by John Mayer

She's a good girl, loves her mama
Loves Jesus and America too
She's a good girl, crazy 'bout Elvis
Loves horses and her boyfriend too yeahyeah...

It's a long day living in Reseda
There's a freeway runnin' through the yard
I'm a bad boy 'cause I don't even miss her
I'm a bad boy for breakin her heart
And I'm free, free fallin', fallin'
And I'm free, free fallin', fallin'

All the vampires walkin' through the valley
They move west down Ventura Boulevard
And all the bad boys standing in the shadows
And the good girls are home with broken hearts
And I'm free, free fallin', fallin'
Now I'm free, free fallin', fallin'

Free fallin' now I'm, free fallin' now I'm
Free fallin' now I'm, free fallin' now I'm
Free fallin' now I'm, free fallin' now I'm
Free fallin' now I'm, free fallin'

I wanna glide down, over Mulholland
I wanna write her, her name in the sky
I wanna free fall, out into nothin'
Oh I'm gonna leave this, this world for a while

Now I'm free, free fallin', fallin'
Now I'm free, free fallin', fallin'
Now I'm free, free fallin', fallin'
Now I'm free, free fallin', fallin'
Free fallin', fallin'
Free fallin', fallin'
Free fallin', fallin'

I've Been Tricked!

I was playing FIFA 08 just now where I whopped a 3.5 star rated team with my 2 star rated team 5-0, scoring 2 magnificent goals in the process, and thinking, "Wow I think I've just comfortably mastered Professional difficulty, can move on to World Class already..."

Then when I checked the difficulty level after the match it was set to "Amateur".

COFM

I had the funniest and most enjoyable COFM tutorial today. I can't remember the tutor's name but he's damn funny and excellent with his examples and contextualizations... His spontaneaity sparked the class to erupt into a full scale PBL-style debate over several issues about EBM, and the practice of medicine in Singapore. I got a quote that applies directly to him and our class today... "Laugh, and the world laughs with you." Hahaha :p I mean that in a GOOD way.

My specs broke! I have NO idea how it's broken as well. I simply "opened" (if that's the right word to use) them, and all of the sudden the left "limb" (if that's the right word to use again... looks like I don't know much about the anatomy of specs) went limp! It was like... The spring was off or something, I don't know. All I know is nothing came off, yet the "limb" was not holding its own and it even came off. ARRGH. I taped the limb back with my wrist tape and it's now serving as a short-term solution to my problems until I can get down to Bukit Timah Plaza and get a new pair. Oh well. I wanted frameless specs anyway, now I have an excuse to get a pair :D

Tze Yi told me he saw me on TV! Haha... For PHS on the Chinese News. So funny...

I wonder how Jon Teo is settling in at Wallaby. Haha... Poor fella has 3 weeks to go before he's released. The three of us should go out again after he gets back. He's gonna ORD liao! *whee*

Here's a pic for everyone to remember him by:

Wasn't as productive as I would have liked in studying today... Didn't manage to advance an extra chapter in immuno as I was hoping for... Maybe tomorrow will be better :)

But for now, things are looking up.

Eeks

I don't think I've ever been so devastated by a (prospective) Liverpool loss...

Maybe it's what's been going through my mind all this while, but predominantly today...

But I guess it's mainly cos they've been winning so much you kind of expect them to perform at least a little bit better, especially after a superbly poor first-half against Man City. I mean, what's the point of beating Man U if you play so poorly against and lose to Man City? Full credit to Man City, they looked at least 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 times hungrier than Liverpool for the win. All Liverpool could do was look lacklustre and wasteful.

That's all Liverpool have been doing in recent years, regarding the Premier League title. No, in 19 years. Build you up with expectation and fill you up with hope, then stumble and collapse halfway through the race. Plenty of false dawns.

I'm not even going to bother watching the 2nd half. I've got work to do and I've already wasted 45 minutes of my time not doing it. It'll probably mean more goals, but not for Liverpool the way they're going. I'd be incredibly surprised if I see the final score later tonight and it gives at least a Liverpool draw, cos giving their 1st half performance, I don't think they'll be able to turn this game around.

"You'll Never Walk Alone"... keep singing and maybe one day... but not today.

P.S. The guy who's mouthing the lyrics, is actually the bass guitarist. The lead singer is the tallest fella I think.

Why?

Why why why why why.

Each time it happens or I think of it it sends shivers up and down my spine *shudders*. And the worst part is... It's happening almost ALL THE TIME... (as if I were being stalked... *cringe* )

Unrelated to the above thought, there is also a time and place for everything... I always remember Mr. Mag's still famous reprimanding to all RI boys of my batch: "There Is A Season For Everything"... So please... I think I speak for several people when I say that you should carry out your... Actions.... At more appropriate times. =\ Seriously. Not a scolding or anything... But "there is a season for everything". Don't take it in the wrong way.

It all boils down to "why" again. WHY.

Sigh. I need to get back to work.

I don't know why but the change in my attitude towards life seems to have taken a turn for the worse. It's not like I want it to, it's... As if I just realized that my realization last time (which made me happier for a while) was just a delusion. I hope this doesn't last...
