White And Nerdy by Weird Al Yankovic

They see me mowin'
My front lawn
I know they're all thinking I'm so white N' nerdy
Think I'm just too white n' nerdy
Think I'm just too white n' nerdy
Can't you see I'm white n' nerdy
Look at me I'm white n' nerdy!

I wanna roll with-
The gangsters
But so far they all think I'm too white n' nerdy
Think I'm just too white n' nerdy
Think I'm just too white n' nerdy
I'm just too white n' nerdy
Really really white n' nerdy

First in my class here at M.I.T.
Jock skills I'm a champion of D&D
MC Escher that's my favorite MC
Keep your 40, I'll just have an Earl Grey tea
My rims never spin to the contrary
You'll find they're quite stationary
All of my action figures are cherry
Stephen Hawking's in my library
My MySpace page is all totally pimped out
I got people begging for my top 8 spaces
Yo I know pi to a thousand places
Ain't got no grills but I still wear braces
I order all of my sandwiches with mayonnaise
I'm a whiz at minesweeper I can play for days
Once you see my sweet moves you're gonna stay amazed
My fingers movin' so fast I'll set the place ablaze
There's no killer app I haven't run
At Pascal, well, I'm number one
I do vector calculus just for fun
I ain't got a gat but I got a soldering gun
Happy Days is my favorite theme song
I can sure kick your butt in a game of ping pong
I'll ace any trivia quiz you bring on
I'm fluent in Java Script as well as Klingon

They see me roll on, my Segway
I know in my heart they think I'm white n' nerdy
Think I'm just too white n' nerdy
Think I'm just too white n' nerdy
Can't you see I'm white n' nerdy
Look at me I'm white n' nerdy

I'd like to roll with-
The gangsters
Although it's apparent I'm too white n' nerdy
Think I'm just too white n' nerdy
Think I'm just too white n' nerdy
I'm just too white n' nerdy
How'd I get so white n' nerdy?

I've been browsing, inspectin'
X-men comics you know I collect 'em
The pens in my pocket I must protect 'em
My ergonomic keyboard never leaves me bored
Shopping online for deals on some writable media
I edit Wikipedia
I memorized the Holy Grail
Really well I can recite it right now and have you ROTFLOL
I got a business doing websites
When my friends need some code who do they call?
I do HTML do for them all
Even make a homepage for my dog!
Yo, I got myself a fanny pack
They were having a sale down at the GAP
Spend my nights with a roll of bubble wrap
POP POP! Hope no one sees me get freaky!

I'm nerdy in the extreme and whiter than sour cream
I was in AV club and Glee club and even the chess team!
Only question I ever thought was hard Was do I like Kirk or do I like Picard?
I spend every weekend at the Renaissance Faire
Got my name on my underwear!

They see me strollin'
They laughin'
And rollin' their eyes 'cause I'm so white n' nerdy
Just because I'm white n' nerdy
Just because I'm white n' nerdy
All because I'm white n' nerdy
Holy cow I'm white n' nerdy

I wanna bowl with-
The gangsters
But oh well it's obvious I'm white n' nerdy
Think I'm just too white n' nerdy
Think I'm just too white n' nerdy
I'm just too white n' nerdy
Look at me I'm white n' nerdy!

Liverpool 1 - 1 Blackburn Rovers

Liverpool's poor away from has infected their home form as well. In the matches leading up to this clash, while Liverpool looked dull, drab and short of ideas in away games, they were nearly unbeatable at home. Now they've looked to have made the transformation to Mr Hyde permanent.

They started the game off well against Blackburn, as they do all their home games. With their good movement and slick passing, they looked to break the Blackburn defence down. However, it was the visitors who put the ball into the net first in the 4th minutes via Benny McCarthy, albeit the goal being ruled out as offside. Liverpool responded and struck back, with Pennant chipping a neat cross from the byline to Gerrard, who powered his header over the bar. Liverpool continued to pressure and should have taken the lead in the 11th minuted, but Riise's cross-shot was pushed away by Brad Friedel, and Crouch could only look in despair as his effort from the rebound was cleared off the line by Khizanishvilli. Liverpool were playing in top gear and were looking good.

Blackburn were never just going to be spectators, however, and they attempted to catch Liverpool off-guard with their quick breaks and counterattacks. In the 17th minute, on a counterattack, David Bentley was allowed the time to drive a cross from the right hand side towards Benny McCarthy. Fooled by the curl on the cross, Reina rushed out of goal wanting to collect it, then changed his mind halfway. Steve Finnan failed to deal with the cross, allowing the ball to bounce over him and into the path of McCarthy, who side-footed the ball into an open goal. The goal had come totally against the run of play and Liverpool were deflated; it all went downhill from there.

Looking dull, drab and short of ideas, Liverpool limited themselves to long-ranged shots that only made Friedel look like an excellent shot-stopper (not to say that he isn't). For all their huffing and puffing in the remainder of the first half, Liverpool never looked like scoring, and it was Blackburn who looked more likely to put the ball in the back of the net (and they did again through David Bentley, although it was ruled as offside).

After half time, Liverpool continued to try to impose themselves on the game. Long ranged shots were becoming very common as Alonso and Riise both tried their luck on several occasions. However, the shots probably just boosted the confidence of Brad Friedel instead of giving Liverpool the equalizer. They continued to pile the pressure on though, making Blackburn look more and more uncomfortable. Finally, the breakthrough came in the 64th minute. Aurelio sent in a corner from the right hand side which bypassed a whole glut of players in the Blackburn box, falling to Bellamy who was unmarked. He bent down to plant his header past Friedel for his first goal for Liverpool in the Premiership.

Liverpool looked boosted by that goal and went for the jugular. But at the way they were attacking, they looked more likely to hit the spleen. There were breakdowns in communications between Bellamy and Crouch, Gerrard looked as if he had lost his form totally and Alonso and Riise skied their aimless shots all over the place. Blackburn, although having minimal possession, had two excellent chances to win the game. The first came from Robbie Savage's free kick that was just over the bar. The next came from some woeful Liverpool defending as Sami Hyypia failed to deal with a lob and gave Jason Roberts control in the penalty area, where the ball fell loose to David Bentley, who rounded Carragher and tried to dink the ball over Reina, but Reina did well to block the shot. It was inevitable that it would end with a draw or a win for Blackburn as Liverpool kept most of the possession without ever really threatening.

Anfield was once known as a Fortress, but with Galatasaray sneaking two goals in the last Champions League fixture here and Blackburn now earning a draw, Liverpool's defenses look to have been broken down. The Premiership title now looks to be well and truly lost. With yet another false dawn this season, one can only hope that Rafael Benitez will be able to salvage something this year.

Player Ratings:

Jose Reina - 6
Made a terrible mistake for the first goal. Was never going to get to the cross, and he realized it too late. Other than that was okay at the back. Has an obvious weakness in clearances, sometimes hitting the ball too low allowing it to be easily intercepted. Made a good save towards the end to deny Blackburn a win.

Steve Finnan - 6
Failed to deal with the cross that led to McCarthy's goal. Does not really do his centre-back covering as well as he does his right back or wing back duties.

John Arne Riise - 7
Good attacker throughout the game. Came close early in the game, but his long range shots towards the end were poor. Was a real threat down the left for Liverpool.

Jamie Carragher - 6
Looked shaky at the back and was threatened by the pace of Benny McCarthy. The excellent central defensive partnership with Sami Hyypia looks to have disintegrated.

Sami Hyypia - 6
Made a terrible mistake, nearly giving Blackburn the winner. Could not deal with Nonda or McCarthy at times.

Jermaine Pennant - 7
One of the better Liverpool players for the game. Saw a lot of the ball and made many penetrating runs down the right hand side. However, for all his possession, failed to deliver good crosses and sometimes held the ball for too long instead of playing it.

Fabio Aurelio - 6
Started the game well but faded away as the game wore on. Set up Bellamy's equalizer, but his corners leave a lot more to be desired. Unsure defending at times.

Xabi Alonso - 6
Does not provide Liverpool the steel in midfield unlike Momo Sissoko. Had a few inventive passes, but failed to come up with anything to unlock the Blackburn defense. Long ranged shots were woeful.

Steven Gerrard - 6
Was largely absent for most of the match, his attacking presence surely was not felt. If he continues to remain anonymous for Liverpool then they are going to be in big trouble.

Peter Crouch - 6
First touch was poor at times and his knock downs for other players were woeful. Did not really come close to scoring other than his effort that was cleared off the line.

Craig Bellamy - 6
Disappointing game, other than the goal. Like Gerrard, was largely anonymous throughout. Failed to link with Crouch, wasting several good opportunities.

Substitutes:

Luis Garcia - 6
Came on and injected some creativity into the Liverpool side, but could not inspire them to victory. Lost the ball too easily at times.

Final Score: Liverpool 1-1 Blackburn Rovers

Polyhybrid Inheritance

Today I was reading my Bio notes on Inherited Changes... There's monohybrid inheritance, dihybrid inheritance... So why not "polyhybrid" inheritance? Just like there are monosaccharides, disaccharides, then polysaccharides... Monomers, dimers and polymers... Hahaha. I wanted to know if what I was thinking was right, so I called Jon Teo (like consultation like that) and asked him to confirm if what we are learning (monohybrid and dihybrid inheritance) is just a zoom in to what was actually going on... Which is "polyhybrid" inheritance. :P

So I assume "polyhybrid" inheritance will be like...

AaBbCcDdEeFfGgHhIiJjKkLl X AaBbCcDdEeFfGgHhIiJjKkLl

Hahaha.

If they test this in A Levels...

Shine On

I feel very proud of myself... I managed to do a math paper totally correct in 2 hours! Plus the extra question... 2 hours 15 minutes. Haha... What a morale booster.

Just bought the new Jet album "Shine On"... It's a fantastic album... It sounds more mellowed, and quite different from the first album... But it's just as good, if not, better.

I was very impressed by the song "Shine On", which the album is named after... It's quite a beautiful song, in my opinion... About the death of Nic's (one of the band members) father... The song was written in the father's perspective. I nearly teared when I listened to the lyrics... Beautiful.

I added the song in the playlist on the side... I just noticed that it may take a while for the songs to load... So be patient! Haha...

"Shine On" by Jet

Please don't cry
You know I'm leaving here tonight
Before I go I want you to know that there will always be a light

And if the moon had to run away
And all the stars didn't wanna play
Don't waste the sun on a rainy day
The wind will soon blow it all away

So many times I'd planned
To be much more than who I am
And if I let you down I will follow you 'round until you understand

That if the moon had to run away
And all the stars didn't wanna play
Don't waste the sun on a rainy day
The wind will soon blow it all away

When the days all feel the same
Don't feel the cold or wind or rain
Everything will be okay
We will meet again one day
I will shine on, for everyone

So please don't cry
Although I leave you here this night
Where I go how far I don't know
I will always be your light

If the moon had to run away
And all the stars didn't wanna play
Don't waste the sun on a rainy day
The wind will soon blow it all away

When the days all seem the same
Don't feel the cold or wind or rain
Everything will be okay
We will meet again one day
I will shine on, for everyone
Shine on, for everyone

When the days all seem the same
Don't feel the cold or wind or rain
Everything will be okay
We will meet again one day
I will shine on, for everyone
Shine on, for everyone

Going Crazy With Studying

I think all of us are going crazy with studying... or nuts. As you'll see later... Hahaha.

Last week I asked Liang Ze... If several or many people get distinctions for something (for example in piano exams), then why is the distinction called a distinction if it doesn't serve to distinguish you from the other people who got distinction? It doesn't serve as a distinction.

I made him very frustrated trying to answer that question. Hahaha!

During Biology revision lecture yesterday, Kai and I were so bored and boliao that we came up with a fantastic way to remember respiration! ...sort of. First, the energy from exergonic flow of electrons down the electron transport chain (ETC) is used to drive H+ from the MATRIX into the intermembrane space. Then, the H+ is RELOADED into the MATRIX. Since the membrane is impermeable to H+, they ENTER THE MATRIX via ATP synthase, which undergoes REVOLUTIONS, using the exergonic flow of H+ to make ATP.

Disclaimer: Please note that many of the points have been left out and under no circumstance should you use this to answer any respiration question.

Lol.

Today, Zhi Wei asked me what nuts and cases have to do with craziness. I thought about it for a while, then crapped, "Well, you know that when people are crazy people say that they have a screw loose right? Without the screw, you're left with the nut lor. So they must be nuts! And they're associated with cases because they are a case study of being nuts... So they are nutcases!"

Lol...

I think I'm going crazy... Or nuts.

Funny Quotes

Yesterday, 3/10/2006

Kai Hong: "Eh, where are the girls?"
(on the absence of F4 who were not in class yet during the 2 hour morning break)
Jason: "Oh they are here but they're not here."

Kai Hong: "What's he going through now? Paper 3?" (during maths lecture)

Hui Yi (my sister): "Eh what's the colour of the element silver? Is it silver?"

Lol... Yesterday was a damn funny day.

Okay... I might have been harsh on my previous post... I did take it a little personally. I guess you can't expect too much from everyone... Hmmm.

Do you even think...?

It's amazing to think how inconsiderate/insensitive some people are. Rather than settle the matter easily, they would prefer to do it some other idiotic way. Fine. Suit yourself. Two can play this game. What is the "testing" all about? It's like trying to get through a THICK metal barrier. But what happens is a lot of misinterpretation and misunderstanding of my actions. People seem to do that a lot to me. But I'm fine. Embarrass me for all you want, that's what everyone does. If you really ARE that unfeeling, then I've got nothing to say. I tried.
