Secret MUNUS Futsal Training Session

Went down to BBDC today to top up more money for my driving lessons... I now have 20 consecutive lessons in the month of June... Lol. I regret getting my PDL so early... Now I have to renew it for $25 extra. Will have to do that soon...

I overestimated the time that I would need to get to BBDC and back, so I decided to take a walk from Clementi MRT to NUS High where I could grab a 151 instead of just taking a bus to the bus stop. You know when you travel certain areas frequently, you tend not to realize that there's actually much more beyond the borders of whatever road you are taking... As if what you see on the left and right of the road is exactly what you'll see, and the end of what you'll see if you go in those directions? So to explore new areas for me it's like charting a new map in my mind... Or to put it in gaming terms, clearing the fog of war. It's a... Refreshing experience. Probably explains why I like navigation so much.

So I went back to NUS today to play soccer with the guys. We played 5-a-side cos Jipson pang-sehed us and Samuel was scared of the rain. But it was just nice, we had 5-a-side after the people from Architecture joined us. From medicine was: Me, Alex, Ian and Girider. Since it was so very nicely 5-a-side, we branded it the "Secret MUNUS Futsal Training Session". Lolll...

It's been a while since I really enjoyed myself during a soccer game. Usually I get pissed at people because they solo too much (on my team) or they think they're so damn good (on the opponent's team). But this was the first time in a long time where we played almost throughout with smiles on our faces. This is also a first time in a long time where I really felt that I PLAYED soccer. The past few times with the M1s, there were too many people on the court to play proper soccer and the past few times with the RIndians, the weather was so bad for soccer and we were too unfit lol.

I scored 3 goals in today's game (first time I've done that in NUS), and set up 1 or 2 I think... It was real fun. I didn't really tire at all throughout the match, though I scuffed my foot against the floor when taking a shot, injuring the big and second toes in the process... And this guy winded me when we challenged for the same ball. Lol. But that's what you get in soccer lah.

I think there're mutiple reasons why I didn't tire at all today, unlike previous times in RI.

1. The time of play was 5-7pm, unlike 1530 - 1830 for RI... So it wasn't sweltering and the sun was not so punishing.
2. I had a long walk from Clementi MRT to NUS High, it was quite a good warmup.
3. I topped up my fluids from 100plus before playing.

Well it could be all of these, or just one of this. But to play at a higher level, this would be a good start to follow.

I don't think I'll make the MUNUS M1 team anyway, there're already Kaartik, Jega, Samuel, Zheng Xian, Kevin Ho, Soon Hock playing... I don't think I'm needed (or good enough to make the first 5), so I guess I'll be taking photos. Hope I get a nice shirt though for being "on the team" for MUNUS. Hahaha...

Looking forward to squash tomorrow with the OG.
