Gravity

I heard this song as I was watching a "Numb3rs" episode yesterday... For some reason, I immediately knew it was John Mayer's Gravity, even though I've never heard it before. John Mayer is a demigod. I couldn't have put it better than frehleymayhem5 on youtube... "With its quintessence of simplicity and soul, this is definitely an extremely well-composed song."

The video starts from the 2nd verse.

"Gravity" by John Mayer

Gravity
Is working against me
And gravity
Wants to bring me down

Oh I'll never know
What makes this man
With all the love
That his heart can stand
Dream of ways
To throw it all away

Oh Gravity
Is working against me
And gravity
Wants to bring me down

Oh twice as much
Ain’t twice as good
And can't sustain
Like one half could
It's wanting more
It's gonna send me to my knees

[beautiful instrumental]

Oh twice as much
Ain’t twice as good
And can't sustain
Like one half could
It's wanting more
It's gonna send me to my knees

Oh gravity
Stay the hell away from me
Oh gravity
Has taken better men than me
Now how can that be?

Just keep me where the light is
Just keep me where the light is
Just keep me where the light is
C’mon keep me where the light is
C’mon keep me where the light is
C’mon keep me where keep me where the light is

[ends off with yet another beautiful instrumental, with the beautiful voices of the background singers]

"You'll Never Walk Alone"
